Helping a student from IB1 understand more about the IB programe and get familiar with the school

This week, I took part in the “globėjų” activity, where IB1 students are paired with IB2 students to help them get more familiar with the IB program and the school. I was chosen by a student named Adomas, who recently joined Vilnius Lyceum from another school. We ended up having quite a lot in common - our subject choices are almost the same, except that he takes Computer Science at HL and Physics at SL, while mine are the other way around.

We spent time talking about how the IB program works, what to expect from teachers, and how to manage workload. I also shared some tips and my own experiences from last year, which seemed to help him feel more confident about the upcoming months. It felt nice to be able to make the transition easier for someone new and to realize how much I’ve learned myself since starting the program.
